Dramaturgy of Movement: Body, Presence, and Scenic Composition
The workshop proposes investigating the body as a site of dramaturgy, exploring scenic creation through physical actions, states of presence, and movement composition.
Drawing on practices from contemporary dance, physical theater, and improvisation, participants are guided through exercises that stimulate body awareness, experimentation, and the creation of original performance material.
The focus is not on the technical mastery of a specific language, but on the possibilities for creation and the generation of meaning through the body in action, enabling the participation of individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds in the performing arts.
Target audience: Youth and adults (ages 14 and up), students, artists, and individuals interested in dance, theater, performance, and other forms of performing arts. No prior experience is required.
Introduction to Contemporary Dance: Body, Movement, and Experimentation
The workshop offers an introductory experience in contemporary dance based on discovering one's own body's movement possibilities. Through exercises involving body awareness, movement through space, spatial relationships, and improvisation, participants are invited to explore different ways of moving, perceiving, and relating to others.
The proposal views contemporary dance as an open field of inquiry where diverse bodies, experiences, and repertoires can generate movement. Rather than merely reproducing pre-established forms or sequences, the workshop seeks to foster perception, autonomy, and the freedom to experiment.
The activities are developed in a progressive and accessible manner, enabling the participation of people with diverse physical experiences, without the need for prior dance knowledge.
Target audience: Youth and adults aged 14 and up interested in experiencing and learning about contemporary dance principles. No prior dance experience is required.
