Plot
Inspired by Franz Kafka's literary classic The Metamorphosis, the show Metamorfose forms part of the repertoire of the Núcleo de Criação Gustavo Silvestre and emerges from the intersection of dance, theatre and audiovisual art to construct a powerful and original scenic experience.
On stage, the body experiences states of pressure, urgency and suspension, revealing a process of transformation that takes place in cycles of tension, rupture and reorganization.
The work investigates the contemporary experience of living under constant demands, addressing issues such as exhaustion, overload and the difficulty of sustaining stable forms in the face of a permanently changing world. Metamorphosis is no longer merely a symbol and comes to operate as a condition: a body that deforms, resists and seeks to reinvent itself.
Between drama and movement, the show invites the audience to recognise, in the layers of the body on stage, aspects of their own experience — their anxieties, displacements and attempts at reconstruction.
